learn the joyful and meditative art of visible mending: a method of clothing repair that emphasizes the fix. visible mending can turn a hole or a tear into something uniquely beautiful, creative and fun. in this class, you will learn how to use a variety of hand stitching techniques including patching, darning and even a little sashiko stitching! all materials to make a mending sampler are included. you are also welcome to bring in your own mending projects to work on.

about the artist
heather anacker is from a long line of seamstresses. she learned how to make her first stitches from her mother and grandmother and has been sewing ever since. she has a BFA in fiber art from california state university long beach, and works full time as a sewing instructor in kansas city.
