maypop is a place for sharing skills, stories and intentional ways of making. we love working with local artists and makers to offer unique, inspiring workshops in our welcoming space. if you’re interested in hosting a workshop at maypop, we’d love to hear from you!

we collaborate with instructors in a few different ways, depending on the kind of class you want to offer and how much support you’re looking for:

guest instructor

  • teachers or artists with a specific class idea they want to offer, who are comfortable handling materials and want more autonomy.

  • guest instructors propose a class and bring it to life at maypop. you design the experience and provide the materials; maypop provides the space and infrastructure to host it.

    this is a flexible, low-barrier way to teach at maypop without a long-term commitment.

    • all materials and tools needed for the class*

    *depending on the subject, maypop may be able to provide materials. any consumable supplies will be deducted from class cost before revenue split.

  • we offer a generous revenue share model for guest instructors.

    • non-members: 70/30 split + $25 registration/admin fee

    • guild members: 90/10 split + $25 registration/admin fee


maypop instructor

  • experienced teachers, artists, or handwork practitioners who want to focus fully on teaching and creative presence—without worrying about logistics.

  • maypop instructors are invited and hired to teach classes that feel deeply aligned with the maypop ethos: nature-inspired, skill-forward, functional and thoughtful. these classes are an extension of maypop itself.

    maypop handles the behind-the-scenes work so you can show up and teach with care and clarity.

  • flat-rate pay (set per class or series) starting at $25/hr


studio rental

  • outside teachers, facilitators, or organizations who simply need a beautiful, functional space to host their own programming.

  • studio rental is a straightforward space-only option. maypop provides the room; you handle everything else.

  • access to the space you reserve

  • each reservation has a 2-hr minimum.

    small table or couch area (seats up to 6)

    • non-member: $25/hr

    • guild member: $15/hr

    large table (seats up to 8)

    • non-member: $35/hr

    • guild member: $25/hr

    • guild member: $40/hr
