Maypop is pleased to welcome back Danielle Ashner of Ground Folk for a workshop on the traditional craft of broom-making. Danielle will guide you to create your very own hand broom with a wrapped handle in the “hen wing” style.

Date & Time: Wednesday, April 23 • 6:30 to 8:30p

Materials: All materials are included.

In this class, students will create a hen wing broom with a wrapped handle. It is a great class for beginners in broom making and sets them up to take future classes with an understanding of the process and a feel for materials.

about the artist

Danielle Ashner, born in 1987 on October 30, is a Kansas City based artist. She graduated from KU with a bachelors degree in fine art with a minor in art history. She is presently working in the mediums of broom making and ceramics. Her work tends to be primarily influenced by an adoration of earth, planets, anthropology, metaphysical themes, and esotericism. You can find her work at www.Ground-folk.com or @ground.folk on Instagram.

Cancellation Policy

Classes require a minimum of 3 students. An emailed notification of cancellation will be sent two days before the class if the minimum is not met. In case of the shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. Student cancellations or no-shows can not be refunded.
