Summer Camp: Natural Dyeing - July 28-31
Experience the magic of natural dyeing! During this 4-day camp, students ages 5 to 14 will explore how plants, food and other natural materials can be transformed into vibrant dyes. Through hands-on experiments, children will learn about the science behind color and the art of dyeing fibers and fabrics.
In addition to assembling their own solar dye jars for continued learning at home, each participant will take home a collection of their own hand-dyed creations, including a bandana, yarn, a tote bag and swatches to use in future projects and more!
highlights of the week
Experiment with different fibers to see how they react to natural dyes
Learn about the interplay of science, art, and math in dyeing
Develop an appreciation for slow, intentional craft-making
This half-day camp will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Each child will need to pack a snack.
cost
half-day: $250
Sliding Scale: Use code SUSTAIN (15% off) or SUPPORT (30% off). Read more about our sliding scale here.
