let’s make a soft balaclava to keep you cozy all season long! in this three-part class, you’ll learn how to make your new favorite chilly-weather accessory in these sessions:
class one: intros, pattern reading, balaclava top (knit with multiple strands of yarn)
class two: balaclava body (picking up stitches)
class three: balaclava neck (joining in the round, ruffles optional!)
please note: there will be homework between classes! consider coming to a maypop craft circle for accountability :)
instructor: lauren vossen
pattern: basic balaclava (with or without ruffles)
skill level: intermediate & advanced (& adventurous beginners!)
required experience: to take this class, it would be helpful to be comfortable with the following techniques: long tail cast on, knit, purl, 1×1 rib, yarn over increase & bind off
ages: ages 16+ are welcome.
required supplies: (available in the shop)
yarn – 100g - 70% mohair, 30% silk yarn
needles – US 2.5 [3mm] & US 6 [4mm] circular needles (16 & 24 in)
you can shop at maypop! if you’re picking out materials at the shop, please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your class to choose materials or bring your own from the list above.
cancellation policy
classes require a minimum of three students. an emailed notification of cancellation will be sent at least two days before the class if the minimum is not met. In case of the shop cancellation, all registered students will be refunded the class fee. student cancellations or no-shows can not be refunded.
