In this class, young knitters (ages 6+) will learn the basics of knitting to create simple projects like scarves and small toys. Here’s what your child will experience in this handwork program:
Making their own knitting needles: Crafting personalized knitting needles for a hands-on introduction to the craft.
Learning to cast on and off, along with the knit stitch: Mastering the essential skills in basic knitting projects.
Finishing simple projects: Creating and completing items like scarves or small toys, building confidence and pride in their work.
Experiencing natural fibers: Exploring the beauty of wool yarn and the magic of plant-dyed colors.

This class is intended for children 6 years and older who have little to no prior handwork experience.

This is a 1-hour class that meets weekly for 6-week sessions.

All materials will be provided in this class. These include natural fibers and high-quality supplies. At the end of this session, your child will be able to take home:
Personalized, hand-crafted wooden knitting needles
Botanically dyed wool yarn (organic cotton available if needed)
Projects they are working on or have proudly completed!

Our Handwork Essentials class is not a mandatory prerequisite, but it’s highly recommended for anyone trying handwork for the first time.
